2nd Saturday of each month
10 am - Noon
FAMILY GAME DAY
at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum
Modern games usually involve a monitor and battery power, but pioneer families were able to find plenty of ways to entertain themselves. Turn off your devices and come to the Las Cruces Railroad Museum for Family Game Day on the second Saturday of every month, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. The museum hosts a variety of old-fashioned games that have been popular for centuries, as well as wooden and jigsaw puzzles.
Cup-and-Ball Toss has a long history in America as a child’s toy, and was played as early as the 16th century in France. The tradition of playing Jacks can be traced back to Ancient Greece, and generations of children have developed dozens of game variations. The origin of Dominos can be traced to 13th century China before they made their way to Europe in the 18th century to eventually become the game we’re familiar with today.
Come into the Las Cruces Railroad Museum on the second Saturday of every month, between 10 am and 12 noon, to have fun as our forefathers did. Bring your family or challenge your friends!
The museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For additional information, visit the website at
